Elegant R80 ST in well-maintained original condition This ST offered here is still completely in its original condition and still has its original paintwork. The engine and frame are of course matching numbers. After BMW launched the G/S on the market in 1980 and it was voted the “best road machine BMW has ever built” by the newspaper “Das Motorrad”, BMW presented the R80 ST as a road version of the 80 G/S for the 1982 model year. Only 5963 units of the 80ST were built, many of which were converted to G/S models over the course of time. This makes it all the more difficult to find a completely original ST today. The mileage is only 36,000, which is documented in a logbook and can be traced via old TÜV reports. The speedometer was overhauled and zeroed at 34,000 kilometers by a specialist workshop. All important maintenance work has been carried out regularly and carefully. The ST left the factory in January 1983 and was registered for the first time in May 1985. The last owner purchased the machine with a mileage of 5000! The machine is in good original condition and ready to ride. The exhaust is also original, unwelded and in very good condition. Of course, the logbook, the ST supplement booklet, the on-board tools and the original air pump are included. The engine starts cleanly and willingly and runs well with no cause for complaint. The gearbox shifts well, the brakes stop.The electrics work flawlessly.
