Back then, the tank cap for the G/S was supplied from the factory without a lock. Nowadays, given the cost of fuel, a tank without a lock is an invitation to steal gas. The tank cap is made of stainless steel and has an integrated ventilation system so that a hose is no longer required. We have fitted it with a special Viton seal that perfectly withstands the latest fuels, which are more aggressive than in the past. No Chinese goods with a fragile metal key and foam rubber seal, but excellent quality from the original BMW supplier at the time. We still have numerous similar and other used parts in stock.
