Numerous films are offered on the Internet and especially on Ebay, but they are of inferior quality or even unsuitable. They are often only 0.08 mm thick or less and are not petrol-resistant. We use Oraguard film – a high-quality branded product that has been specially developed to protect against stone chipping and mechanical stress and for use on painted surfaces. The material is resistant to most greases, oils and fuels. The film is highly transparent, glossy and has excellent UV resistance. At 0.15 mm, it is particularly thick, yet flexible enough to follow the shape of the tank. It is barely visible and hardly changes due to its UV resistance. This means that the original look of the tank is not affected. Ideally, the film should be installed wet. As long as the water/detergent mixture is still under the film, it can be moved and positioned precisely. The water is then squeezed out with a check card or similar and any residual moisture disappears by itself through diffusion.
