Most of the time, small stones and grit whirled up by the front wheel can really damage the oil cooler. The oil cooler guard that we helped develop protects against this. At 42 grams, it is very light and yet sturdy. The frame is made of anodized aluminium, the grille of stainless steel. After successfully fitting a prototype at several off-road events and trips, we had it manufactured to our specifications by Wolf, who have been making grilles for other motorcycle models for years. It fits on the oil coolers mounted on the crash bar of the GS models and on the oil coolers of the two-valve GS and G/S when mounted centrally.
