11 mm thick rubber cushion for the battery cover on many BMW models. If these parts are missing, the battery cover comes into contact with the frame tube and is therefore at risk of breaking even with a slight impact. Since the covers on the /6 models and the R 90 S were breaking regularly, these rubber washers were introduced in 1976 for the /7 series. However, we also highly recommend them to /6 and R 90 S riders, as the original battery covers are no longer available. For each battery cover on the /7 models, you’ll need a flat rubber washer (4.5 mm) at the top and the 11 mm-thick rubber washer shown here at the bottom.
