The threaded inserts in the front half of the housing tend to snap out of their guides. This happens because oxidation causes the screws to fuse tightly to the brass sleeves. When you turn the screw, the sleeve turns with it and snaps out.The lamp cover then no longer closes properly, allowing water and dirt to get in. Often, you can’t remove the sleeve from the screw without damaging it. Our custom-fit sleeves are roughened on the sides for a better grip and are bonded in place with two-component adhesive. This gives the housing component a secure new hold. The original screws can still be used. Tip: Apply only a small amount of adhesive. Too much adhesive can clog the threads.
