Anti-kink springs for Bing carburetors

1 pair (2 pieces). Prevent kinking and increase the service life of the Bowden cables on the carburetor.

For carburetor bowden cables on BMW two-valve boxers.

As we were tired of kinked choke and carburetor cables, we had these fine springs made from stainless steel. They prevent the throttle and choke cables from kinking prematurely. Thanks to their high-quality design, they are also a stylish accessory, easy to fit and remove and reusable. The longer service life of the Bowden cables when using our anti-kink springs also saves money – four cables cost around €55.

Kinked cables change their length and therefore affect the synchronization of the carburetor. This affects the smooth running of the engine. Other solutions such as attached rubber grommets have the disadvantage that water cannot drain off. This leads to corrosion of the Bowden cable housing at the crimp connection. Slipped rubber grommets also impair the freedom of movement of the Bowden cable at the adjusting screw, so that the prescribed play can change.

None of this occurs with the springs on offer here: they clamp onto the metal end of the train in a fixed position and do their job permanently and without complaint. Even slightly kinked cables can be stabilized again with the springs. The synchronization of the carburettor is thus maintained.

The support springs are made of stainless steel (V2a 1 4310). They are not standard parts, but are manufactured to our specifications in terms of diameter, length and spring hardness precisely for this purpose. The end coils of the springs are, of course, ground at both ends.

The price is for one pair of springs (2 pieces). If throttle and choke cables are to be fitted, two pairs are required.
